Brisbane notched up their first win of the season with a two point win over the Magpies. With only three and a half minutes left to play in the final quarter the Lions took the lead with a goal to Jed Adcock after both Brown for the Lions and Thomas for the Pies missed opportunities in front of the big sticks. On a wet and muddy paddock the Lions held the Pies at bay for over three minutes to retain the lead on the final siren. Best players for the Lions included Adcock, Black and ex Demon Johnstone and Black. For the Pies Didack, Burns and Cloke tried very hard all night. Collingwood take on Richmond next week while the Lions host Sydney.
