WEST Perth will play finals football, after snatching fourth spot with a thrilling seven-point win over Subiaco at Arena Joondalup this afternoon.

The Falcons celebrated Troy Longmuir’s 100th game in style, coming from 23 points down at half-time, on the back of an eight goal third term to win 15.7 (97) to 14.6 (90).

They will now face Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval in next Saturday’s elimination final, after edging out East Perth by just two premiership points.

However they may be without leading goal-kicker Brent LeCras, who was reported for a late challenge on Subiaco’s Raphael Stack in the final quarter.

A crowd of over 2500 saw Subiaco dominate the opening half, as the reigning premier jumped out to a 29-point lead midway through the second.

However, the Falcons hit back after the break, and closed to within seven points when Jack Darling snapped truly at the 12-minute mark.

Consecutive goals to 100-gamer Troy Longmuir, followed by two more from Andrew Strijk and Craig Smoker had the home side up by 13-points heading into the last quarter.

Subiaco managed to cut the margin to just one kick in the final term, with four of the final six goals in the match, but it wasn’t enough as West Perth held on for a shot at September action.
