FORWARDS

Heath Younie (3) – strong finals campaign but left his worst to the big day and rarely sighted.

Nick Gill (4) – well controlled by Sibenaler, looked extremely nervous and crunching tackle in the first quarter seemed to rattle the key forward.

Matthew Wright (2) – disappointing game from the goal sneak who couldn’t get near the ball all day.

Shannon Motlop (5) – dangerous around goal early but failed to capitalise on his chances.

Clint Alleway (5) – was the go-to man in attack and took several strong marks early and posted North’s opening goal from 60 metres out but missed too many of the other opportunities given to him.

Matthew Krieg (2) – another disappointment for the Roosters against his old side, struggled to get into the game.

MIDFIELD

Scott Bamford (7) – one of North’s players who put in a four quarter effort, his pace around the ground made him difficult to control and scored two goals as well.

James Allen (8) – took awhile to find his feet but was a shining light for the Roosters when he did to achieve a game-high 27 possessions.

Toby Stribling (5) – provided some run off his wing but on too few occasions.

Brett O’Hara (5) – got his hands to the ball first with 21 hit-outs but didn’t do anything around the ground.

Dean Howard (5) – tried to use his strength to inspire his teammates but noone was following suit.

Chris Ladhams (4) – the flamboyant midfielder/forward failed to show his usual spark.

DEFENDERS

Trent Sporn (5) – ran hard off the half back line but let Callinan slip when the game was still up for grabs and let him set up the Bulldog’s win.

Shane Schubert (7) – won his position in the key defensive post and tried to bring teammates into the game.

Ben Hart (8) – clearly North’s best as the former Crow provided strong drive from the back lines.

Greg Gallman (3) – struggled in the big game arena and spent much of the time on the bench in the second half.

Josh Coulter (5) – held Havelberg to just two goals and got a bit of the ball himself but was inundated with constant attacks from his former side.

Luke Ivens (4) – had the task of restricting James Gowans’ impact, which he failed to accomplish and should have been used in other areas (particularly forward) in an effort to ignite his side’s hopes.

INTERCHANGE

Daniel Wakelin (3) – hampered by knock to thigh and knee early but still didn’t do enough around the ground for a big man.

Josh Cubillo (6) – defies his 18 years of age and showed his toughness in defence with his in and under approach. Is definitely ready for the AFL.

Captain Darryl Wintle (5) – last minute inclusion with all the pre-match talk on will he or won’t he play, and in hindsight probably shouldn’t have.
