Former Hawthorn premiership defender Andy Collins has been given the tough task of changing the fortunes of perennial cellar dwellers West Adelaide in the SANFL.
Collins has established himself as a successful VFL coach with the prestigious record of improving struggling clubs.
He coached Sandringham to a premiership, Box Hill to consecutive finals appearances and last week took Coburg’s senior and reserves teams into a grand final.
The 42-year-old was named 2007 VFL Coach of the Year and has had experience as an assistant coach at St Kilda.
The Bloods have appointed Collins as full-time senior coach for the next three years.
