North Melbourne star forward Nathan Thompson wants to keep on playing next season , despite an injury ravaged year in 2008.

With a full pre-season training period him, Thompson is confident of playing his 12th year of AFL footy in 2009.

Thompson made a positive come-back to the side this season after missing the whole of last year due to a knee reconstruction but his knees have limited his time on field this year as well.

The 30-year-old is hopeful about playing in the game against the Blues this Sunday after injuring his ankle early in the game against the Bulldogs last weekend.

Thompson played out the game against the Dogs and finished with two important goals.
