Thompson back for Roos but with death threats

North Melbourne will be welcoming back Nathan Thompson this week, but there are other issues surrounding the talented forward......it has been revealed that he had received a a number of death threats via the mail earlier this year.

On the bright side of things for him, his AFL rival’s Adam Goodes and Andrew McLeod are the other players identified on Friday as also receiving death threats at the same time as Thompson.

There are believed to be two other players from Essendon and Carlton in the same boat.

The letters have been sent to the police for investigation.

Thompson said that he doesn’t think he has too many enemies out there but added that not everyone is going to like him.

He explained that he has received a few attacking letters over the years, but this was the worst one and decided to pass it over to the chief executive for the club to look over.

Hopefully for Thompson and his team, the letters won’t distract him for what should be a thrilling contest against the Bulldogs on Sunday.
