West Perth will be without veteran midfielder Craig Smoker for Saturday’s clash with East Perth at Arena Joondalup after the former Melbourne player was found guilty and hit with a one-week ban for forceful front-on contact on Claremont’s Matt Orzel in an incident from the Round 1 game at Claremont Oval.
Smoker was reported on match day and pleaded guilty to the charge.
He will now return against South Fremantle in Round 4 with the Falcons having a bye in Round 3.
Smoker has played 70 WAFL games for the Falcons since making his league debut in 1996.
