HIGHLY respected AFL commentator Dennis Cometti has thrown his support behind West Perth, by agreeing to become the club’s No.1 Ticket Holder for the next two seasons.
Cometti played 38 games for the Falcons, and kicked 70 goals in his four seasons at the club.
His arrival in 1982 as Coach also coincided with the introduction of the Falcons name and logo.
President Brett Raponi said Cometti had long been regarded as one of Australia’s finest sports broadcasters.
“He is highly respected across the country, not only for his astute commentary but also his reasoned debate on sport and his sense of humour,†he said.
“Combined with his playing and coaching background, he is the perfect candidate.â€
West Perth CEO Gerry O’Dea said Commetti’s appointment would be a great fit for the Falcons.
“In fact, it’s centimetre perfect,†he said.
