John Worsfold has been offered a new contract with the West Coast Eagles.
Worsfold, who out of contract at the end of the season was on Thursday in talks with West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett after returning from a holiday.
He could decide to resign with the club as early as today.
Worsfold is confident the current line-up could push his team for a top-eight position next season and said the Eagle were set to challenge for a premiership within at least the next three years.
Worsfold has previously indicated that he is keen to stay with the club, which has only managed three wins so far this season.
The former Eagles captain, who led the team to premierships in 1992 and 1994, was first offered the top coaching job in 2002 and has since led the club to the finals in each of his six seasons, as well as grand final triumph in 2006.
