West Coast prodigy Nic Naitanui may receive the lead ruck role in just his second game against Hawthorn on Saturday night.

With four-time All-Australian ruckman Dean Cox struggling to overcome a groin injury, coach John Worsfold may give Naitanui the nod, ahead of dumped Eagles ruckman Mark Seaby.

Worsfold rated Cox only a 50-50 chance to play, but was confident Naitanui was ready to assume the ruck duties should Cox fail to recover in time.

However it is likely Seaby will be a late inclusion to form a ruck duo with Naitanui.

Meanwhile, premiership duo Andrew Embley (ankle) and Adam Hunter (shoulder) may make a return pending fitness tests later this week.
