Retiring West Coast utility Adam Hunter said he knew his AFL career was over when forced to have two follow-up operations on the shoulder he had reconstructed last year.
Hunter announced his retirement last Friday night ahead of West Coast’s 80-point demolition job on Richmond, with the 2006 premiership hero being chaired from Subiaco Oval.
The 28-year-old played 151 matches for the Eagles, before a chronic shoulder injury limited him to just eight senior games this season and may eventually require a full shoulder replacement.
