WAFL premiership coach John Dimmer has been appointed State coach for 2010, as the Black Swans search for redemption against Victoria in this year’s State Game at Medibank Stadium on May 22.
The Black Swans suffered one of their worst ever losses back in 2007, where the side, captained by Brownlow medallist Shane Woewodin received a 119-point thumping.
Dimmer, (55) said WA would look to build on its thrilling one-point win over South Australia last year, but admitted it would be tough to overcome a side they had not defeated since 1991.
Dimmer will coach WA for just the second time, after successfully leading his WAFL club, South Fremantle to its 13th flag last year.
