Contract controversy at Perth

The WA Football Commission will investigate the contracts of several Perth players to determine whether the club has made a serial salary-cap breach.
At the centre of the controversy, the WAFL found a contract, which was not signed by Perth management.
The contract related to a deal between the club and former Demons skipper Chris Bossong last season, and was discovered last month only after Bossong sought a clearance to South Fremantle.
WAFL operations manager Clint Roberts said Bossong’s contract payments did not make Perth in breach of the 2008 salary cap of $175,000.
However, Roberts said it was necessary that the WAFC review the club’s contractual arrangements to ensure there weren’t other inconsistencies.
