PROMISING Swan Districts reserves ruckman Dylan Harvey could get a call up for league duties, and possibly replace the suspended Llane Spaanderman ahead of the club’s Saturday fixture against the unbeaten Sharks at East Fremantle Oval.

Harvey has had a good start to the 2010 season in the ruck for the Swans in the WAFL reserves, despite his side failing to post a win from their two matches against West Perth and South Fremantle.

“He’s been impressive in the ruck, and we’re really starting to see him develop after a couple of years in the reserves...” “He certainly enters the fray and could get the call up to do the job for us,” said Swans football manager Matt Peach.

The 196cm ruckman has made the most of his reserves side’s 0-2 start, and has done the bulk of the work so far for the Swans, with 12 hit-outs against the Falcons and 13 against the Bulldogs.

However, the club may also opt to go for some more experience, with Wes Lammie and Matthew Spencer poised to share the load against impressive Sharks duo Selby Lee-Steere and Robert Young.

The pair will look to expose the Swans at the centre bounces, after combining for a total of 47 hit-outs in their side’s two-point win over Peel last week, with Young the dominant of the two, winning 27 hit-outs.

Meanwhile, it’s an otherwise disappointing start for Spaanderman, who received a reprimand for striking South Fremantle’s Nathan Phillips, and accepted the one week ban rather than risk a harsher penalty from the tribunal due to his poor track record.

But they may be bolstered by the return of midfielder Brett Wolfenden, after he was dropped from the league squad for a disappointing performance in round 1.

The 20-year-old bounced back though, with 25 possessions to be the Swans’ best in a losing side on the weekend.
