The Swan Districts Football Club are embarking on a program to provide all junior players, senior players, coaches, umpires and volunteers that are involved in its district with a special free supporter membership for the season 2008.

Swan Districts chief executive Peter Taliangis and the ‘Smarter than Smoking,’ Development Staff for the district see the announcement as a huge step towards the future development of footballers in the district.

The Swan Districts Football Club is the centre of football in the district, it is where the boys and girls that register for Auskick and junior football today, will play in the future.  We will be investing in their development for the next 10-15 years and we believe this is a great opportunity to get them behind their local team.  We promote a safe and friendly environment for children and families at the Steel Blue Oval, Bassendean.  We provide opportunities for children under 15 to enter our matches for free, plus provide bouncy castles, face painting, little league (grid games), Auskick games, the opportunity to kick the footy at the games and get up close to the players and the coaches.

The free junior supporter membership will include Swan Districts team poster, sticker, player cards, fixtures and Supporter Membership Card.  The supporter membership will also provide benefits at match-days throughout the year, including special offers for the whole family.  The supporter members will receive updates on the Swans and special offers via e-mail throughout the season.

The free adult supporter membership will include Swan Districts team poster, sticker, player cards, fixtures and Supporter Membership Card.  The supporter membership will also provide benefits at match-days throughout the year, including special offers for them and their whole family.  The supporter members will receive updates on the Swans and special offers via e-mail throughout the season.

Registration Day for junior football in the Swans District and across the state will be held on Sunday, February 24.

Last year there were almost 60,000 registered junior footballers in WA (not including school participants) and that number is expected to grow again in 2008.
