THE premiership hopes for Swan Districts have hit a hurdle, with the club confirming today that star duo Brett Robinson and Wes Lammie will be sidelined for up to six weeks through injury.

Lammie injured his PCL in his side’s 37-point win over East Fremantle last weekend, while Robinson suffered an ACL sprain and is still awaiting test results to determine the full extent of damage to his knee.

“We’re still waiting to see the report to see if he needs surgery because it’s a sprain and not a tear, so there’s a chance he may not need it,” Swans football manager Matt Peach said.

Despite the injury, the club said Robinson, who represented WA in the State Game against South Australia last year was upbeat about his chances of playing for the Swans again this season.

“He’s in good spirits, which is good to see, and he’s still confident that he can make a comeback towards the back end of the year.”

According to the club, Lammie, who was last season’s best and fairest winner in the reserves does not require surgery, but will undergo rehab on his knee, and won’t be available for at least one month.

However, the Swans will have captain Josh Roberts for the preliminary final replay against Subiaco this Saturday, despite going down with an ankle problem against East Fremantle.

The reigning Swan medallist has been rested by the club this week, and should be named in the squad’s starting 18, as will ruckman Llane Spaanderman, who returns from a one week suspension.
