WHO WILL COACH THE SUBIACO RESERVES in 2009

Posted Jan 12, 2009 - 9:48 AM

Subiaco lead the WAFL with 16 Reserves Premierships, followed by East Fremantle with 13. Subiaco have won eight Reserves flags since 1995 but have yet to announce their coach for the upcoming season. Brett Mayo who coached the Reserves in 2007 and 2008- which included a flag in 2007 has moved on and his replacement has yet to be named. Whoever gets the job should look forward to a very successful season. Players coming back from injury are Adam Hay, Anthony Beattie, Ben Randall, Ben Keevers, Clinton Gardiner and Brett SanFrancisco- all handy players. Subiaco have an abundance of talent who have yet to play League or who are yet to be league regulars. Matt Virgo, Stephen Martin, Mark Re,Simon White, Jason Bristow, Ben Walker, Julian Jacobs and many more are all good enough to progress to the Senior side. Add to this talented group a number of players like Tyson Keene from the 2008 Colts and the new coach whoever it may be has a lot to work with. I will go out on a limb and say that RUMOUR has it that former East Perth coach Glen Bewick will end up as the Subiaco Reserves coach for 2009 and will coach the Reserves to a Premiership. Other contenders for this position would have to be Assistant coaches David Sierakowski and Cam Shepherd. I can’t wait for the new season to start.
