Defender Matt Maguire is set to come back into the Saints team for this weekend’s game against the Eagles.
The key defender played in most of St Kilda’s pre-season games, having not played an AFL game since round six last year due to problems with his knees. He has spent the last two weeks playing with VFL club Sandringham.
Coach Ross Lyon said Macguire was a strong chance to play especially considering West Coasts’ tall forwards such as Quinten Lynch and Ashley Hansen.
Xavier Clarke is also on the recovery path for the Saints who has also been playing with Sandringham. Lyon said although he was looking good, he would return to the side only when he was a hundred percent fit.
