After receiving a $50 000 fine from the AFL for breaches in the players' code, St Kilda have been dealt another blow with captain Lenny Hayes being suspended for 2 weeks.

Hayes was reported on video evidence and found guilty for striking Tim Notting of the Brisbane Lions.

The AFL Tribunal handed the captain a 2 week suspension meaning Hayes will miss critical games against Fremantle and Collingwood.

Hayes stated that he did not mean to strike Notting and that it was a reflex action.

The suspension means Hayes will have to wait another two weeks to reach his 100 game milestone.

The Saints are still waiting on Justin Koschitzke's verdict, who was reported for tripping.
