Saints coach Ross Lyon is not worried about taking inexperienced ruckman Ben McEvoy into his sides clash with Essendon at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Lyon said he was pleased with his new-look ruck-duo of Gardiner and McEvoy, who did well together in their first combined hit-out against Collingwood on Monday night.
In the absence of former Geelong ruckman Steven King, McEvoy got his chance following the late withdrawal of Robert Eddy.
McEvoy debuted for the Saints against Fremantle last year, but in his first game this season, the youngster proved his worth with 15 hit-outs.
