Dog's Don't Have Gaspar On The Chain

Darren Gaspar has not had direct communication with the South Fremantle Football club and has not had an offer made by the board to join the playing ranks in 2009. The rumour mill has gone into overdrive that the Bulldog recruiting team had Gaspar in their sights, and while there may be more players to follow the lead of Peter Bell, Jeff Farmer, James Clement, Jayme Graham, and Ash Sampi, at this stage, Gaspar won’t be one of them.

Anthony Van Der Wielen spoke to footygoss, confirming that while the club would love to have the services of Darren Gaspar should he feel that he is fit and keen to rejoin the WAFL ranks, no communication had taken place between the club and the player. Van Der Wielen went on to say ‘I have known Darren personally for 20 years, and if he came to the club and said he wanted to play, and that he felt he had something to contribute, then we’d love to talk to him, but he hasn’t spoken to the club’

You can hardly blame the WAFL world for biting at what ever bait may be thrown around regarding the Bulldog recruitment of 2009, as they have already landed such big fish, and while one suspects that the ink hasn’t run out yet, Darren Gaspar might just have a few to get past in the line to sign up should he have a sudden change of heart.
