Richmond star Matthew Richardson faces a possibility of missing the rest of the season, due to a torn hamstring sustained in Sunday’s loss to Sydney.

At best, the club’s doctors said that Richardson could be back for Round 17, but that is a low percentage scenario at the present time. The legendary Tiger will undergo surgery later today to repair his right hamstring.

Richardson is the oldest player in the AFL and booted his 800th career goal in his 282 AFL game at the SCG on Sunday. He was in fine form yet again this year, and sits on sixty marks for the year, only three behind the leader from Carlton, Bret Thornton.
