Richmond caretaker coach Jade Rawlings insists despite dropping five experienced players for Saturday night’s clash against West Coast, none of them are in danger of being axed permanently.
Rawlings omitted nearly 800 games of experience for the match, but said nothing long-term should be read into the omissions.
Defenders Joel Bowden and Jordie McMahon, ruckman Troy Simmonds, Mark Coughlan and forward Kayne Pettifer were all dropped for Rawlings’ first game as Richmond coach.
Rawlings spoke with all five players and said he found that no problems existed with any of them.
