The son of former West Coast captain Murray Rance may make his AFL debut for Richmond against Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday.

Alex Rance, who was taken with Richmond’s priority pick (number 18) in the 2007 Draft, has been selected on an extended interchange bench as part of the Tigers 25-man squad for the twilight clash.

Rance impressed for both Swan Districts and the Western Australian Under 18’s team last year and caught the eye of many talent scouts, including Richmond’s WA spotter, former Falcon Geoff Valentine.

Richmond’s team will be finalised tomorrow.
