Former Richmond captain, Kane Johnson’s season, and possibly career are in tatters.
The revelation follows the club’s decision to put the 31-year-old on the long-term injury list, making him ineligible to play for a minimum two months.
The Tigers face an uphill battle with Johnson, who is still suffering from ongoing soreness following a pre-season knee operation.
With further surgery not expected to hasten the recovery, Tigers coach Terry Wallace said he was disappointed with the outcome, but is looking forward to the return of Johnson in the second half of the year.
