Prized Richmond recruit Ben Cousins looks set to return to senior football this weekend for his side’s crucial clash with Brisbane at the MCG on Saturday.

The former West Coast captain is eyeing a return to AFL after testing his hamstring injury with a stint for Coburg in the VFL last weekend.

Cousins’ timing couldn’t be any better for the Tigers, following news that forward Matthew Richardson will be sidelined for up to 12 weeks with a torn left hamstring tendon.

The match is a must win for both clubs, with Lions coach Michael Voss looking to crack his side’s MCG hoodoo, and Tigers coach Terry Wallace looking to keep his career alive.
