Port Adelaide won’t be selecting a player on a ‘needs’ basis when they get their no.4 priority pick in Saturday morning’s NAB AFL Draft, according to their recruiting manager.
The Power are short on tall strong players, but it seems they won’t be aiming to secure talented Victoria Metro big man, Tyrone Vickery.
The Power have shown strong interest in Vickery since October’s NAB AFL Draft camp, but it appears they are now more interested in the services of local boy Hamish Hartlett.
The 18-year-old was impressive in the u-18 championships, but sat out most of the draft camp after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Highly regarded Western Australian ball magnet, Daniel Rich, could be another possibility for Port Adelaide only if the Dockers decided to opt for Stephen Hill at selection three.
