Port Adelaide star player Daniel Motlop has beaten a striking charge at the AFL tribunal tonight thanks to some honesty from an opposition player.

Eagle Adam Hunter, explained to the jury that Motlop didn’t hit him in the head, like a goal umpire involved in Sunday’s game told the panel just a few minutes before Hunter’s evidence.

Port Adelaide will be thankful for Hunter’s honesty especially since a week ago, ruckman Dean Brogan was suspended due to Essendons’ Andrew Lovett testifying against Brogan after assuring him that he would protect him in the tribunal.

Maybe Hunter and the Eagles followed the unofficial rule that the players share between themselves, which involves helping one another out with charges...or maybe he was simply just telling the truth.
