Former AFL player Adam Heuskes has denied rape allegations made about him by a woman on the ABC's Four Corners last night.

The woman claimed that Heuskes raped her in a London hotel room in 1999.

It was stated that the incident happened during an end of season trip with the Brisbane Lions and had already been investigated by British police with no charges being laid.

Heuskes' lawyer Craig Caldicott said that the former player was extremely distraught by the allegations and is contemplating taking legal action against the ABC.

"We're seeking advice from legal counsel for defamation," Mr Caldicott said.

"We don't know yet. We're seeking further advice and we've got to keep our options open."

Heuskes again denied the allegations made by the woman, who remained anonymous, as well as a rape incident involving Port Adelaide player Peter Burgoyne outside an Adelaide nightclub.

Although the players were charged for the Adelaide incident, the charges were later dropped by The South Australian Director of Public Prosecutions.
