Perth has produced its highest score in more than a decade to stun South Fremantle by 68 points at Eftel Oval today.
The Demons won every quarter on the way to an impressive, 26.11 (167) to 15.9 (99) victory.
It was back in 1997 when Perth last registered over 25 goals, kicking 28 against Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval.
Kane Ransted began the match in fine touch with four first quarter goals on the way to a seven-goal haul as the Demons’ forward line ran riot over a loose checking Bulldogs’ defence.
Josh Krueger finished the match with four goals for the victors, while Tendai Mzungu and Mat Power managed three majors each.
Former Carlton midfielder, Ross Young was at his classy best and combined well with skipper, Troy Cook to win many clearances.
South Fremantle, missing a number of key players, was unable to get into the contest for much of the day and were best served by the gutsy, Ray Smithers.
Fremantle wingman, Heath Black had a day to forget, giving away free kicks and 50m Penalties and struggling to have a major impact on the match.
The only sour point for Perth was another injury for defender Kade Lang who left the ground late in the match with what appeared to be a shoulder problem.
