Cook's contribution acknowledged

Fremantle life member and current captain of the Perth Demons Troy Cook has been awarded the second annual Nowalenko Award in honour of his contribution to Australian football and the community.

Cook who retired from AFL football last year was nominated by the David Wirrpanda Foundation who he began working with in 2008 as a mentor and project officer.

Cook has also lead a Perth football club revival this year with the club pushing for a finals berth.

The award is part of indigenous football week who’s centerpiece is the dreamtime at the G game between Essendon and Richmond.
