Peel Financial Shortfall

The youngest member of the WAFL, Peel Thunder FC, has today formally asked the WAFC for assistance due to a $300,000 financial shortfall in its 07/08 budget. The shortfall is reportedly due to Peel not meeting expected income targets. The Peel CEO and Club President have since handed in their resignations. Former Subiaco CEO Kim Williamson will temporarily take over as the Peel CEO. Addressing the financial shortage, the WAFC has agreed to loan Peel the capital so that club operations are not interrupted due to this issue. The loan has conditions attached to it, primarily involving the WAFC taking an active hands-on role in the management of the Peel FC.
