The WAFL preseason competition may be down to its final four combatants, but their will be plenty of interest outside the semi-finals at Medibank Stadium this weekend.

The double-header at Leederville on Saturday evening will see last year’s premiers Subiaco take part in their first official preseason game against Peel Thunder for a place in the final of the knockout competition, while West Perth and Swan Districts will be aiming to continue their impressive form from week one of the three-week series in the following match.

Away from the preseason competition, 2008 WAFL finalists Claremont and East Perth will do battle at Claremont Oval on Saturday afternoon in a scratch match, while Perth will host South Fremantle at EFTel Oval in another trial game also kicking off at 2.15pm on Saturday.

East Fremantle will sit out the second week of the preseason series after losing to Swans in an entertaining first round challenge match.
