Melbourne have humiliated traditional rivals Carlton by a massive 105 points at the MCG this afternoon giving them their fifth consecutive win.

The margin of 105 points breaks Carlton's previous greatest losing margin record of 81 points set in the inaugural VFL season of 1897.

Melbourne's 25.10 (160) also broke the record for their highest ever score against Carlton by five points.

Young forward Cameron Bruce, who is having a stellar season, kicked seven goals, picked up 26 posessions and ten marks in a best on ground performance.

Adam Yze was a significant contributor for the Demons picking up 31 possessions in the midfield.

Ben Holland played his best game for the Demons after switching from Richmond at the end of last season kicking four goals and picking up 16 possessions.

Jeff White, Chris Heffernan, Travis Johnstone and Brad Green were also good players for the Demons.

For Carlton, second game player Andrew Walker proved last week's impressive debut was no fluke picking up 17 possessions.

Ryan Houlihan and Nick Stevens both tried hard for the Blues picking up 26 possessions.

Karl Norman was also impressive running off the backline.
