The Melbourne Football Club is looking for a new chief executive officer, and have officially launched an international search for the candidate.

Melbourne chairman Paul Gardner said the successful candidate would have an exceptional track record in business and marketing and would have the ability to take the club to new levels of business management.

"We are looking for a leader to take us to a new and sustainable level of business and
operational success. Our core focus is to build on our performance and prestige and we need to find the right person who can work with the Board to deliver this," Gardner said.

"In the last six months we have made many changes to our business and administration, to develop a model that is more attune to 2004 than 1984. Now it is time for us to put the right person in place to ensure we stay on track and achieve superior performance.

"Ideally we are searching for a candidate who has an appreciation of professional sport - but more importantly we are looking for an individual with a proven record of business success and superior management expertise. This coupled with a passion for success will help us Unleash the Demons".
