Melbourne have received their second rising star nomination for the season with 20 year old defender Colin Garland getting the round 14 nod.
Garland debuted for two games last year and has now added 11 to his total of 13 games playing on key forwards such as Lance Franklin, Nick Riewoldt, Alan Didak and Daniel Bradshaw.
From North Hobart, Garland had a rapid rise through junior ranks to represent Tasmania in the 2006 NAB AFL under-18 Championships.
He was selected at No.46 in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft.
