Melbourne’s Jared Rivers has decided to challenge the $1950 fine that the match review panel handed him yesterday for making negligent contact with an umpire.
The umpire involved was umpire Justin Schmitt and the incident occured during the third term of the Demons loss to Adelaide on Sunday.
If Rivers is unsuccessful in his challenge this evening, he’ll be fined $2600.
