Wayne Carey was officially welcomed back to the North Melbourne Football Club when he was inducted into the North Melbourne Hall of Fame on Saturday night.
An emotional Carey apologised to the club as he accepted the honour.

Carey, who was an ex-captain of the club, four time best and fairest winner and two time premiership captain, played 244 games for the club and kicked 671 goals. He left the club in disgrace soon after an off field scandal occurred in 2002.

Carey was inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside other greats Denis Pagan, John Lewis, Laurie Dwyer, Albert Mantello, John Francis (Jack) Adams and Barry Cheatley.
