Nathan Buckley would be ideally suited to head up the coaching at North Melbourne, former Kangaroos coach Dean Laidley reckons.
The recently-departed Laidley says Buckley would be a good appointment to lead the Kangaroos in the AFL next season.
Buckley is currently in the US learning coaching at a leading university.
Club James Brayshaw agreed, saying he is a person of interest and will be contacted by the club.
Laidley on Tuesday said he was quitting North Melbourne after six-and-a-half seasons and 149 games in charge, which came as a surprise to the club.
Laidley has told media that he felt it was time to depart the Kangaroos North, especially after he could not achieve his goal of winning the 2007 premiership.
