Dean Laidley has resigned as senior coach of the North Melbourne footy club.
Laidley informed the Kangaroos that he was resigning on Tuesday morning.
His coaching career with North Melbourne lasted seven years.
The Roos have had a tough first half of the 2009 season thanks to injuries to key players, including star Brent Harvey and currently occupy the 12th spot on the ladder with just four wins.
Laidley will attend a press conference later this afternoon.
