Harvey eager to get back

North Melbourne skipper Brent Harvey could make an early AFL return after having surgery to repair a dislocated elbow he sustained in round 5.

Harvey is hoping to receive a medical clearance on his repaired left elbow so he can captain North Melbourne against the Western Bulldogs in round 13.

The 31-year-old will meet with his surgeon next week to discuss the possibility of a clearance, and hopes his return will be after the mid-season break.

Harvey also conceded his comeback also largely depends on coach Dean Laidley’s decision to play him in the VFL or bring him straight back to the Roos.
