As reported in The Age, Kangaroo's coach Dean Laidley told fans that they must stop expecting outstanding performances and heroic efforts from the clubs senior players.

Speaking mainly of Glenn Archer and Anthony Stevens Laidley believes fans must get behind the rising stars of the club rather then getting their hopes up when the pair don't play up to expectations or can't play at all.

"Glenn Archer and Anthony Stevens aren't going to be around forever," Laidley said.

"If supporters or other players are waiting for them to come in and break open games like they've done for the last 15 or 16 years, then they've got another thing coming. The supporters need to support the young guys that we've got and the players need to stand up."
