Hawthorn’s premiership defender Rick Ladson will be sidelined for at least two-months following pre-season surgery on his left knee.

The defender had surgery in January to flush out the knee, which hasn’t settled as quickly as hoped, according to Hawthorn football manager Mark Evans.

Ladson averaged 19 possessions last season, and had a memorable Grand Final game, kicking a final quarter goal in his side’s upset win over Geelong.

The defender is stuck on 99 AFL games and will have to wait until after the mid-season break to complete the milestone return.
