Hawthorn injury list

The Hawthorn injury list continues to grow with the addition of Rick Ladson, who broke his arm against West Coast on Saturday at Subiaco Oval.
Forward John Barker is a chance to return to action this week after suffering a quad injury.
Hawthorn injury list:
John Barker (quad) will have a fitness test this week.
Chance Bateman (shoulder) returns to Melbourne this week after spending the past fortnight in his native Western Australia. He resumes his rehabilitation program this week.
Simon Beaumont (Achilles) is doing upper body weights.
Tim Boyle (hamstring) is to miss the rest of the 2005 season. Boyle had an operation last week to remove a rod from the leg he fractured last year. He will resume light skills in the next fortnight and return to running by the end of the month.
Campbell Brown (shoulder) is expected to miss one week. He returns to full training this week.
Robert Campbell (knee) is on the AFL long-term injury list. He is continuing a light jogging program.
Nick Holland (shoulder) has limited mobility in the shoulder and will have the injury further assessed over the next week.
Ben Kane (ankle) will miss the rest of the season. He will be available to resume pre-season training in October.
Rick Ladson (broken ulna, dislocated radius) is to miss the rest of the season. Ladson had a plate inserted into his broken arm on Saturday night in a Perth hospital. He is expected to return to Melbourne later this week.
Matt Little (ankle) is progressing better than expected after ankle surgery. He is back swimming and weight training.
Sam Mitchell (foot and shoulder) is to miss the rest of the season with foot and shoulder injuries. Mitchell is expected to have shoulder surgery later this week.

Here is the updated Hawthorn injury list:
John Barker (quad) played for Box Hill Hawks on Sunday. He played two quarters in the VFL match against North Ballarat. He is available for senior selection.
Chance Bateman (shoulder) is out for the rest of the 2005 season.
Simon Beaumont (Achilles) is out for the rest of the 2005 season.
Tim Boyle (hamstring) is to miss the rest of the 2005 season.
Although Boyle has been recovering from a hamstring injury, the Hawks medical team thought it appropriate that he have the rod removed from the leg he fractured early last year.
Boyle will have the procedure this week. He will resume running next month.
Campbell Brown (shoulder) is expected to be sidelined for the next one to two weeks. He is progressing well and is resuming light skills this week.
Robert Campbell (knee) is on the AFL long-term injury list.
Shane Crawford (quad tightness) was a late withdrawal from the team that defeated Carlton on Saturday. Crawford sustained tightness on the morning of the game. He was replaced in the side by Harry Miller. Crawford will train this week and is expected to be available for senior selection.
Nick Holland (shoulder) has his arm out of a sling and will commence running activities this week. He has limited mobility in the shoulder and will be regularly monitored by the Hawks medical team over the next fortnight.
Ben Kane (ankle) will miss the next two weeks.
Matt Little (ankle) resumes training this week after surgery. He will focus on upper body work.
Sam Mitchell (foot) is expected to miss the next two to three weeks with a bruised foot.

Here is the Hawthorn injury list as they look to win their second match for season 2005 against Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday.
John Barker (quad) is expected to miss the next three weeks.
Robert Campbell (left knee) is traveling along nicely. He is on the AFL long-term injury list.
Ben Kane (ankle) is about three weeks away from resuming.
Rick Ladson (knee) is available for selection.
Angelo Lekkas (stroke) is in his second week of skills training. His return to football will be determined by medical specialists.

All Hawthorn players, with the exception of Tim Boyle, should be available for the start of the 2005 AFL home and away season.

As the Hawks limp to the end of the season, here is there updated injury list:
Tim Boyle (broken leg) is out for the season. He is running, cycling and swimming.
Shane Crawford (broken arm) is out for the season. He is doing basic skills and training, as well as stretching and yoga. Shane

A look at the Hawthorn injury list before this weekend's clash against Melbourne sees:
Tim Boyle (broken leg) season. Slowly increasing his running and is introducing skills work into his program.
Shane Crawford (broken arm) is doing bike and pool work. His arm is in a plastic brace.
Ben Dixon (knee) is resting after having an arthroscope on his knee last Thursday. Dixon is expected to miss three to four weeks.
Danny Jacobs (fractured tibia) season. Jacobs is training well on a modified program.
Rick Ladson (ankle) had an MRI scan today and is waiting for a report to determine whether he has strained his inferior tibia fibula ligament.
Luke McCabe (shoulder) season. McCabe is doing moderate running. His shoulder is progressing well.
Doug Scott (ankle fracture) season. Scott is training well on a modified program that includes bike and pool work and weights.
The game against the Demons sees Donald McDonald taking his in first game in charge for the Hawks after the decision today to end Peter Schwab's tenure as coach immediately.
McDonald comes into the Hawks' head coaching position with a strong CV, although he is not expected to be a contender for the job on a permanent basis.
He played 155 games for North Melbourne between 1982 and 1992 and has coached both Werribee and Box Hill to VFL premierships.

Here is the updated Hawthorn injury list:
Danny Jacobs (bruised knee) will have a fitness test this week.
Chance Bateman (hamstring) is in full training. He will have a fitness test this week.
Tim Boyle (broken leg) is progressing well. He is doing walking drills and very slow jogging. He is out for the season.
Shane Crawford (broken arm) will have his arm in plaster for another one to two weeks. He is doing some light aerobic activity.
Luke McCabe (shoulder) is doing running drills this week. He is out for the season.
Doug Scott (ankle) commences weight training this week. He is out for the season.

Here is the current update for the Hawthorn injury list:
Kris Barlow (knee) is expected to miss 5-6 weeks. He begins modified training this week.
Tim Boyle (fractured tibia) is out for the season. He is on a modified training program of pool, gym and bike.
Adrian Cox (ankle) will have a fitness test this week.
Jonathan Hay (hamstring tendon) will have a fitness test this week. He has been in full training for three weeks.
Luke Hodge (foot) will miss one more week.
Danny Jacobs (hamstring) will have a fitness test this week.

Here is the updated Hawthorn injury list:
Kris Barlow (ruptured posterior cruciate) had arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Saturday morning. He is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with the knee injury. He snapped his posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Round 4 VFL match against Coburg.
John Barker (quad) will have a fitness test this week. Barker's last senior outing was against Port Adelaide in Round 3.
Tim Boyle (fractured tibia) is out for the season. He started training last week. He is limited to pool and bike work.
Tim Clarke (back) will have a fitness test this week. He was hurt in the first half of the VFL Round 4 match between Box Hill Hawks and Coburg.
Jonathan Hay (hamstring tendon) is to miss another two weeks. He is in full training.
Luke Hodge (foot) will miss another fortnight with stress fracture in his foot. He will continue to wear a protective boot.
Harry Miller (toe) did not play last Sunday's VFL round five match against Sandringham with a broken toe. He is expected to be available this week.
