The Hawks have helped secure their bright future and hold off rival raids by signing on eight key squad members for the next two seasons.
Jarryd Roughead, Chance Bateman, Jordan Lewis, Mitch Thorp, Brent Renouf, Robert Campbell, Jarryd Morton and Mark Williams all showed loyalty to the club with many believing a premiership could be around the corner.
Many of the eight players could have received more on the open market with rival clubs expected to make major bids for fringe players like Mitch Thorp and Brent Renouf.
The West Australian clubs would have liked to have a play at West Aussies Chance Bateman, Mark Williams and Jarryd Morton.
