Hawks coach Alastair Clarkson has kept his options wide open to combat Blues gun-forward Brendan Fevola in Saturday’s match at the MCG.
The reigning premiers were forced to rule out key defender Stephen Gilham, who is plagued with a knee injury which has restricted him to just one match this season. This leaves Clarkson with no obvious match-up for Fevola.
Thomas Murphy and ruckman Robert Campbell have been able to fill the Hawk’s defensive void during the early part of the season, and could play a pivotal role.
However, Norm Smith Medallist Luke Hodge is another option for the Hawks, as is Brent Guerra, who returns after a week out with a hamstring injury.
