Lance Franklin made an impressive come-back gathering 26 disposals and booting four goals in Hawthorns’ 13.21 (99) to 8.13 (61) win over the Eagles at
Visy Park on Friday night.
In what was an even match for most of the day, Franklin inspired the Hawks to a 5.5 to 1.0 last quarter as the Eagles fizzled out and the Hawks grew hotter.
There were no signs of second-year Blues for Cyril Rioli, who looked energetic and smooth through-out the game finishing with two majors. Reliable big-man Jarryd Roughhead was also an affective target up front for the Hawks, as their forward line looks to be in tip top condition to take on the high-flying Cats in a mouth watering Grand final re-match in round one of the regular season.
