Hawthorn’s Campbell Brown will up to six weeks from the game after he injured his knew during the Hawk’s 2-point victory against Sydney at the MCG in a win that kept the Hawks’ season alive.

Reports yesterday said the hard-man suffered a “grade-two tear to his posterior cruciate ligament” in the third quarter.

The win came at a cost though as Brown hobbled from the ground in the third quarter while Lance Franklin was booked for a high hit on Martin Mattner in the final term.

The Hawks this week confirmed the premiership defender Brown will miss at least four matches.

The 27-year-old Brown, who is the son of the WAFL hall of famer Mal Brown has been a great aggressor for the struggling Hawks this season.

Since he debuted in 2002, he etched his name as a hard man in the league.

In 2007 Brown held down the difficult centre half back position for Hawthorn, an amazing feat for a man of his size, and was awarded a place in the All Australian team for his efforts.

The same year, Brown was fined $15,000 for giving misleading information to the AFL Tribunal about a misconduct charge on then West Coast star Chris Judd.
