Geelong have suffered a major set-back with skipper Tom Harley set to miss the first month of the season with a knee injury.
Harley’s knee was in worse condition then first thought after a post-season clean by a surgeon. The Geelong skipper never missed a game last season and earned his first All-Australian jumper.
Harley was hopeful that he’d be ready for the first game of the season, but has failed to recover fully.
According to the skipper, his knee had caused him troubles in the past, and together with a heavy workload in the last year, it’s not a big surprise that he won’t be taking the field yet.
Through a slow and steady rehabilitation program, Geelong are hoping that their captain will be back in action during the first half of the season.
