Promising young Geelong midfielder Nathan Djerrkura could make his AFL debut for the club against the in-form Essendon on Sunday.
Djerrkura was drafted by the Cats in 2006, but the 20-year-old has been plagued by quad injuries of late.
Originally from Darwin Wanderers, Djerrkura has been impressive though in Geelong’s VFL side for the last few weeks, prompting his inclusion into an expanded 25-man squad.
Geelong coach Mark Thompson said he would love to give Djerrkura the opportunity to play, as he has performed really well and looks like a league player.
